Ukrainian-Polish Difficult Brotherhood at the Beginning of the 21st Century: The Perspective of a Direct Participant in the Events

Abstract

The article is devoted to events that have taken place in relations between Ukraine and Poland over the past 25 years. The author draws attention to the circumstances that have led to misunderstandings and tensions in bilateral relations. Particular emphasis is placed on the Volhynia Tragedy of 1943, which remains a major point of contention in the perceptions of both nations regarding the events of that period. The article cites statements by prominent figures who have called on Ukrainians and Poles to pursue reconciliation and unity in the name of a better future for new generations.
